Secrets of alveolar bone restoration

Many dentists use prosthetics conducted implant for a patients with denture defect. Now it is one of the most common ways to return beautiful smile and self-confidence to patient. Numerous clinical studies suggest dental implantation as a great way not only for its predictability, but also for high level of treatment success. Sufficient quantity of bone ensures successful implantation, however, the statistics said about 80% patients should increase preliminary bone volume before the dental implants integration.

The bone thin can result in bone resorption in the vestibular-palatal direction. Moreover, even if the patient’s bone has a sufficient volume, a poor thickness of the bone crest will doom the implant operation success.

The dentists use two main methods of bone increasing: the autologous bone grafting or the osteoplastic material with a resorbable membrane.

Autologous bone blocks ensures good result in restoration of alveolar crest bone. Nevertheless, this method has one major drawback: the operation at two sites increase duration, also, it is an additional discomfort for the patient. It is necessary to emphasize that with that method only a limited amount of tissue from a donor site.

There is no such drawbacks in osteoplastic material. In combination with a resorbable membrane, the process of bone regeneration is much simpler. Such operation performs under local anesthesia without secondary surgery.
